Overview

At One Mount, we are building the next generation of AI Cloud platforms. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in defining the technical direction of the distributed services at the heart of a multi-tenant cloud platform. You will design and build the foundational systems that customers depend on, delivering both continued improvements and pathbreaking new capabilities at a high quality. You will work on highly distributed systems and the latest server technologies, with a relentless focus on reliability, scalability, performance, consistency, and debuggability.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements and translate them into well-defined services and APIs.
• Drives identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for the distributed services, components, and platform features you own.
• Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to establish and improve performance, scalability, maintainability, and return on investment (ROI).
• Designs for failure across distributed systems — addressing consistency, fault tolerance, partitioning, and graceful degradation at scale.
• Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of the platform, while driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
• Mentors engineers and contributes to a culture of engineering excellence through design reviews, code reviews, and technical leadership.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, Go, Rust, or Python.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems fundamentals — consensus, replication, consistency models, and partitioning.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience.
• Experience building large-scale, highly available services in a public or private cloud environment.
• Experience with client-side technologies (web/native app development) is a plus.
